What Makes ALCO Jewelry Water Resistant?

Take your jewelry off before you get in the water!!!

Sike. That's what we all thought, or rather, what we all did before a new kind of jewelry came to town.

Water Resistant Jewelry

Sooo I can wear it in the water? Yup.

And it won't rust or turn green? Yuppp.

How!?

Well, at ALCO we have two tricks to make our jewelry water and tarnish resistant. The first is that the base of our jewels are marine grade stainless steel. This stainless steel is named 316L and is actually more commonly used to build refrigerators!

Our second trick is something called physical vapor deposition or PVD coating. This is the durable coating we use for our gold pieces. Traditional electroplating of gold finishes require a clear coat that degrade with time and can easily tarnish or corrode. PVD requires no clear top coats that fade or dull which means your jewels will last much longer!

These two tricks help us create some of the most beautiful, water resistant jewels that we have ever seen (obviously not biased at all).

If you're interested in some proof, go check out our Instagram highlight where we test our jewels in whatever water we can find.

On top of all this cool stuff, our jewels are also hypoallergenic (nickel and lead free)!

Basically no matter who, where or what you are, ALCO jewels were made for you.
